The main project of the association 2021./2022.
AHSB is our main project of the association and a continuation of our successful multi-year project. Adria Hydrofoil with which we competed in the international competition of radio-controlled boats Hydrocontest and today we are participating in the prestigious Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. The competition is held in the Principality of Monaco under the auspices of Prince Albert II and numerous sponsors.
Monaco Solar & Energy Boat Challenge 2022The competition brings together experts in the field of technical sciences who design and build vessels of the future powered by renewable sources according to technical rules.
It encourages development and innovation in nautical and maritime technology and emphasizes the importance of preserving the environment. The competition takes place in three classes Energy, Solar and Open and is open to anyone who wants to contribute to the development of energy sustainable vessels.
The competition has been held since 2014 with students and engineers from various universities around the world, as well as associations and private companies.
Our second vessel for the competition was named Teredo Navalis after the shipworm.
The design and construction of the vessel began in 2021 and was successfully completed at the end of June 2022. The main specifications and characteristics of the vessel are listed below.
The vessel and deck are made in a "sandwich" construction of styrofoam and PET core, carbon and glass fibers and epoxy resin using the Vacuum bagging technique.
Solar boat "Teredo Navalis" - Complete design, as well as construction of the vessel itself are made entirely by members.
Monitoring of consumption and state of energy obtained from solar panels via 5G connection.
Battery pack 1.5 kWh (LiFePo4 cells).
Connected to the battery via 2x MMPT - Total installed power of solar cells 1300 W.
Maximum speed of 16 knots.
25 min at full speed, cruising speed 6 knots with an average consumption of about 1000 W.

The competition originated in October 2014. It is organized by Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Hydros Foundation, and the International Powerboating Foundation. The goal of the competition - development of new forms of vessels, development of hydro-wing technology and alternative propulsion systems, using exclusively ecological energy sources to power the vessels of the future. Project requirements and constraints are given by detailed technical rules. The Solar Class competition is performed in several disciplines: Fleet Race, Slalom Race, Championship Race
